Stepping In, Wales Arts Health & Well-being Network
WAHWN works to enable arts and creativity to transform, the health, wellbeing and resilience of individuals, communities, and healthcare in Wales.
Established in 2013, WAHWN (Wales Arts Health & Wellbeing Network) is the national sector support body for arts, health and wellbeing in Wales.
In 2024, I managed ‘Stepping In' which is a training and mentoring programme for a small cohort of 4 mentees, funded by the Arts Council of Wales Arts Health & Wellbeing Lottery and delivered in partnership with Swansea Bay University Health Board; Hywel Dda University Health Board; PeopleSpeakUp, Caerphilly County Borough Council Arts Development, Cardiff Metropolitan University and Cardiff School of Art.
Stepping In has been designed to respond to a lack of diversity within the arts and health creative workforce. As part of the mentoring programme, I organised and hosted a five day residential at Cardiff School of Art with training including Trauma Informed practice, Dementia Awareness, Mental Health Awareness and self-care as a freelancer, and artist masterclasses from established creatives from the global majority.
